Barbara Crockett grew up along the Appalachain Trail, learning to draw the many beautiful landscapes before her throughout her everyday life. She has developed a strong appreciation for the arts, even through her study at East Tennessee State University where she received a masters in education. She has visited various galleries, museums, and even studied under both nationally and internationally known watercolorists such as Tom Jones and Sterling Edwards. In addition to being a very talented watercolorist, she is also a retired teacher and principal of Wake County schools. A fun fact about one of Barbara's series is that her mermaid series began when her granddaughters asked to be depicted as mermaids! Come visit Barbara's studio at The Cotton Company!
