I have many inspirations in my life, mostly my precious family who are always encouraging me to pursue my creative side. As a child I loved to draw and was fortunate to have parents and grandparents that filled their walls with my creations.
After I married and had children I set my drawing aside never looking back; life was filled with being a working Mom with two busy kids and husband. Thirty-four years later we moved to Wake Forest from Michigan. It was definitely time for me to get back into drawing, so I took a workshop which reminded me just how much I loved to draw. Since then I have invented myself as an artist by taking workshops in painting with encaustics and acrylics and continue to draw with graphite.
I love the challenge of capturing the character and facial expressions of people of every age and as well as pets through drawing with graphite pencils and painting with graphite powder. One of my top art forms is encaustic painting, a fascinating process using molten bees wax for creative expression.
