In the Spotlight...
Husband and wife team, Chuck and Jane, merchandise Berry Towne Crafts Boutique in The Cotton Company Gallery. The boutique offers handcrafted items, mainly pottery, created by residents living at O’Berry Center in Goldsboro, NC. Chuck has worked in the retail industry for most of his life while his wife works with autistic children in WCPSS. The couple has a son, Christopher, who lives at O’Berry Center. During one of their early visits they shopped the retail store called Berry Towne Crafts on campus. Here the products sold are those created by the residents, including Christopher, in their campus workshops. When Chuck and Jane saw the high quality of the products, they decided to help promote Berry Towne Crafts. The decision to open a boutique in The Cotton Company, as their outlet for selling Berry Towne Crafts, was an easy one. After retiring, Chuck decided he did not want to give up being in the retail business all together, therefore having a boutique at The Cotton Company allows him to stay involved with retail but also it did not require his managing every day.
