Missy's Wishes

Sometimes the fantasies and games we play as children can become reality.  Maryann Koziel, owner of Missy’s Wishes Boutique located in the Marketplace of The Cotton Company, used to love to play “Store” growing up.  Before opening her dream boutique, Maryann worked in Communications for the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  The theme of her business is country primitive décor.  Originally from Buffalo, NY, Maryann was raised around craft shows and country stores.  Though when she made the venture down south she was surprised at how hard it was to find these types of shops with the same country primitive décor she was drawn to.

     Finally, last summer, Maryann decided to create her own little country store and joined The Cotton Company. She found The Cotton Company allowed her to enjoy all the fun aspects of her business without having to worry about the mundane details that go along with running a store. She has realized that she has more time than she anticipated to dedicate to making most of the one-of-a-kind items found in Missy’s Wishes Boutique. Maryann takes a lot of pride in her country boutique and really enjoys when someone finds an item that they love enough to purchase and make their own. When shopping Missy’s Wishes, one will find a nice mix of both handmade and manufactured items, all of which can easily be categorized as ‘homey’.
