Barbara Batchelor

Barbara was born in North Carolina and now divides her time between Wake Forest, NC and Naples, Flordia. She received her Ph.D in education and followed a career in teaching and adminstration. She retired in 1999 and now devotes full-time to her art. She paints acylic and mixed media. 

She attended classes and workshops at the Art League of Bonita Springs, Naples Art Association and the Art League of Marco Island. She has also attended workshops in Asheville, North Carolina and Edina, Minnesota. 



Her art has been exhibited at BIG Arts in Sanibel Island, the Art League of Bonita Springs and the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples. She also partcipated in the art exhibits in the Bonita Springs Mayor's Offices. 

Artist Statement 

"The tapeestry of life's story is woven with the threads of life's ties ever joining and breaking." This quote from Rabindranath Tagore describes my journey as an artist. Each painting is an expression of my exploration, experimenation and learning about my life's story. As I paint I tie and retie with the past threads of my life, but I am also defining a vision from my future life. Welcome to my journey! 

Artwork ranges from abstract to expressionist to landscapes using mixed media, acrylic, oil and collage.
